Powerful Teas for your hormones and gut health

We can all benefit from more support in various aspects of our health. After working with clients for over 12 years, I've always seen nutrition as the first step, but for some, it merely scratches the surface, and digging into the depths of what you are adding in, not taking out, is important. There is more to nutrition that's expansive to whole foods, like including herbs, garlic, raw honey, and good quality fats like coconut oil, which are all great at soothing the gut and stimulating the intestines and liver, than just "eating healthy." When I was dealing with candida overgrowth and mold toxicity, eating healthy wasn’t enough. I found myself bloated from almost everything, including rice and chia seeds. I had to keep removing foods until I realized my environmental factors were stressing my gut, including not feeling safe in my relationships.

When I hear others say, “I eat healthy,” yet they still struggle with issues like XYZ, I believe there's much more to nutrition than just consuming a piece of fruit or a bowl of vegetables. It's not just about what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, how many meals to eat , when to eat for exercise or the order of your meals. It's about how your nutritional plan aligns with lifestyle factors that can impact your gut and hormone health, such as sleep, stress, exercise and mental health.

Through my journey, I discovered the power of teas to help combat anxiety, heal my nervous system, and improve my liver and gut health. When the pandemic rolled in, I used Organic Olivia’s respiratory tea blend, and from then on, I was hooked. I also needed a replacement to coffee so I did some digging to find replacements .

I came across Organo Coffee which was a reishi based coffee blend that was also great at modulating the immune system and busting biofilms where bacteria , fungus and toxins are housed and coffee also had its benefits at stimulating certain cytochrome P450 enzymes, particularly CYP1A2, which plays a role in the metabolism of various substances, including drugs and toxins. This stimulation can help the liver process and eliminate harmful compounds.

For some, eliminating it can be a good idea for hormone health, acid reflux, and high cortisol. I also tell my clients to try to reduce intake and drink it after breakfast.

Teas I’ve incorporated that taste like coffee are dandelion root tea with vanilla mixed with carob powder. It is the perfect combo flavor closest to coffee and really great at supporting liver detoxification and bile production. Make sure to use a good frother to mix well.

As we know, the body works as a whole, so finding a tea that works for you is really going to depend on your symptoms. The teas are categorized by your body's systems, and many have a multifactorial effect, like the ones under the nervous system, because the nervous system controls EVERYTHING! You can also rotate between teas and see which ones work for you the best and at what time of the day.

Just a friendly reminder :

you can't out-tea a poor diet and lifestyle! Unless, of course, your tea is brewed from unicorn tears and sprinkled with fairy dust then maybe it could work some magic! But let's be honest: no amount of tea is going to turn that pizza you enjoyed last night into a healthy kale salad. The truth is, consistently taking care of your mental and physical health is what really matters. Teas can be a wonderful addition to your routine like sprinkles on a donut but they definitely won’t replace the donut!

If you have questions or need more support on your journey with gut health and hormones, why not schedule a strategy call? Think of it as your health GPS because we all need a little guidance in the sometimes confusing world of wellness. So, buckle up, and let’s get started!
